Building community & inspiring tomorrow’s leaders

“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” - Margaret Fuller

Our mission is to build community and inspire tomorrow’s leaders.

Changing the world starts within our own community.

It all began with an idea by Mayor Jocelyn Yow and Ms. Madeline Johnson. Mayor Yow grew up spending most of her time in the library, which sparked her interest in reading. She set up a little library outside her house in 2018, to share the joy of reading with her neighbors.

Ms. Johnson, a student at Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, joined local Troop #251G and for her Eagle project, she and a few other troop families collected book donations and built three lending libraries in neighborhoods throughout Eastvale.

Mayor Yow decided to expand upon Ms. Johnson’s Eagle Scout project by ensuring all neighborhoods have at least one little library. With the sponsorship of Eastvale Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Eastvale Friends of the Library, the idea finally came into fruition in Summer 2021.

Each of the libraries was custom built by students at Eastvale Eleanor Roosevelt High School STEM Academy led by Mr. Joseph Martinez.

Ready to take the next step?

These little libraries are placed in different neighborhoods throughout the city and are maintained by our residents and volunteers. If you are interested in requesting for a little library to be placed outside your house, please fill out this application. Note that we prioritize high-traffic areas, such as the entrance of a neighborhood, or locations that are easily accessible.

Thank you for helping us make this city a better place for our next generation of children.
